By your second registration at UB, you should have already taken your Upper-Division Writing Placement Test to ensure timely graduation and to enhance your academic performance in subsequent courses. In order to register for Advanced Expository Writing (WRIT 300)—an upper-division general education writing course required of all majors—you must either pass Practicum in Writing (WRIT 200) or score a 300 on the Upper-Division Writing Placement Test.
The test, which can only be taken once, is administered by the Academic Resource Center by appointment only weekdays from November 2 through December 4, and on two Saturdays: October 24 and November 14.
You must RSVP for this test through UB’s Web calendar (if there is no RSVP field below, then this section is full—please try another date). Note the start time and be sure to arrive a few minutes early. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Bring a photo ID and a pen or pencil to the Academic Center, room 116.
