Millennial Student’s Search Habits. Lucy Holman, Langsdale Library
Much has been made of the search habits of “millennials,” students who have grown up with the Internet as a quick and easy source of information. How do these students conduct academic research and what are their conceptualizations of search tools? Lucy Holman has been looking for answers to these questions from our own UB millennials. By conducting interviews and observing first-year students in their research processes, she has learned how this group looks at the research process as well as how they process, evaluate and use information. Join us for discussion of the results of Holman’s research that sheds light on how millennials research a topic and turns up some other interesting findings along the way.
